O_O -eyebags-
Uhh... anyway, I guess I'll do this journal in sections, day by day. Here we go...
DAY ONE - CALIFORNIA/COLORADO/FLORIDAWe pretty much travelled this whole day. The first flight was two hours, from California to Colorado, followed by a two-hour break in Colorado, then a three-hour flight to Florida. That night we stayed in a hotel in the Orlando International airport.
DAY TWO - ORLANDO/PORT CANAVERALNot too eventful. We ate breakfast at the hotel and then took a limo to the Disney Wonder. All of us had to adjust to being out on the water.
The biggest thing to happen that night was the Golden Mickeys at the Walt Disney Theatre. The Disney Wonder has an awesome theatre for stage shows, and the Golden Mickeys was about a shy girl named Ensign Benson who is forced to host a Disney musical awards show.
DAY THREE - CASTAWAY CAY, BAHAMASThis day was my favorite day of the entire trip. I woke up that morning and didn't feel the ship moving. I went out on deck and there it was: THE FLYING DUTCHMAN. It was kind of like when a litte kid wakes up and sees snow for the first time. I tried to not freak out too much, but I had to wake up ~
capaow and tell her. She saw it and was like, "...am I still dreaming?"
As for Castaway Cay itself, the island was beautiful. We left the Disney Wonder and first took pictures of/with the Dutchman and Jack. After that we found a spot on the beach and swam and collected shells for the rest of the day. The water was nice and cool and very clear blue, just like I imagined it would be. We ended up going back to the ship with a huge bag of shells.
That night also happened to be PIRATE NIGHT. We ate at Tritons, one of the main restaurants, during which they gave us pirate bandanas. Me and ~
capaow also owned at the PotC game show. Last pirate event of the night was the "Pirates IN the Caribbean" Party, and its finale was a fireworks show. The Disney Cruise Line is the only cruise line allowed to fire fireworks off a ship out at sea.
That day we met our waiter, Ganesh (for those of you who don't know, each family gets the same waiter every night), and I met a cast member named Quiana, who was really nice. I kept bumping into her throughout the trip. Me and ~
capaow also got a stalker named Roberto, who worked at the store Mickey's Mates. He was always standing behind us all like, "heeeyyy girls!" -cough- Anyway...
DAY FOUR - NASSAU, BAHAMASThis day we just went to the Atlantis resort in Nassau. All we did was swim on the "lazy river" type thing that actually included rapids that I kept hitting my butt on. My mom got overheated so we went back early.
We were eating at Tritons again, but I got really dizzy, so I went back to the stateroom early.
DAY FIVE - CASTAWAY CAY, BAHAMASAfter discovering all of us had really harsh sunburns from being out in the sun all day for the past two days, we decided to get a late start and just take it easy. Me and ~
capaow took more pictures of the Dutchman and did the pirate treasure hunt. We won Castaway Cay-exclusive coins.
That night I waited about an hour outside of the theater to get good seats for the brand-new Toy Story musical, which is only on the Disney Wonder. We got front row center seats and then I had to go back because I felt dizzy again. I ended up having to stay in the stateroom again, but I watched the musical on TV and it ended up being one of my favorite musicals. My dad brought back a Toy Story Midway Mania pin since I waited an hour and didn't even get to see the show live.
We also ate at Animators Palette, which is a pretty famous restaurant. The whole restaurant is in black-and-white and has sketches of all the Disney characters on the walls. About halfway through the meal, the walls "come to life" or the screens behind the walls light up and everything suddenly is in color. That night our waiter Ganesh opened up a little bit about his life and about how he had fallen in love with a lady who used to work on the Disney Wonder (I know that sounds pointless but I'll talk about it again later). Me and ~
capaow got stalked by Roberto again and I pin-traded with Quiana before having to say goodbye to her since she would we busy the next day.
And I know this sounds stupid, but it was hard watching us sail away from the Dutchman and Castaway Cay. I loved waking up and just having them there.
DAY SIX - PORT CANAVERAL, FLORIDA/DISNEY WORLD (EPCOT)First thing we did was get all our stuff together so the limo could take us to Disney's Polynesian Resort in Disney World. We ended up dumping almost all of the bag of shells overboard (...okay so me and ~
capaow had fun throwing stuff over lol whatever).
Second, we ate at Animators Palette for breakfast, and the waiter Ganesh seemed a little bit off. At first we thought that maybe he broke up with the lady he was talking about, but then my dad asked him what was wrong. Ganesh said, "I'm done. I turned in my letter of resignation last night." I felt so bad for him, but we still don't know what caused him to quit. He just said that eight years of working on a cruise ship was enough.
So the limo took us to the resort and we had the rest of the day to go to EPCOT. EPCOT wasn't really one of the parks I appreciated too much last time, but I actually had fun there this time. We started out in the Japan Pavilion of the World Showcase part of the park, where we shopped and ate at Mitsukoshi and got sugar art done for us by the candy lady, Miyuki (shiney, shiney, tastes good, only one minute after kjsdghk -punched-). My dad, ~
Ewika, ~
capaow, and her sister went on Test Track, then my dad went on Mission Space, and sometime during the day we all went to Club Cool. Club Cool is a place in EPCOT where you can try out all kinds of sodas from around the world. I liked Kinley (a lemon and honey drink from Israel), ~
capaow liked a type of ginger ale, and I think ~
Ewika and my mom liked VegitaBeta from Japan. Everyone but me tried Beverly, a nasty bitter drink from Italy. I got it on tape, so the video of ~
capaow drinking it might be up on my YouTube account sometime soon.
DAY SEVEN - DISNEY WORLD (MAGIC KINGDOM)This day was kind of rushed, so I don't remember much. I know we all rode PotC and got first and second row and a nice picture of Davy Jones. We also saw Mickey's PhilharMagic.
DAY EIGHT - DISNEY WORLD (ANIMAL KINGDOM)I got sick this day.
I never really liked this park, so I kind of just tagged along. My dad went to get Fastpasses for Expedition Everest and Kali River Rapids. I followed him to the Expedition Everest gift shop and was fine, but once I got to Dinoland USA I was feeling really woozy... I had to have my mom walk me back. I slept for the rest of the day.
DAY NINE - DISNEY WORLD (HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS)I was still sick this day, which really sucked because I was so looking forward to going to this park because of Toy Story Midway Mania. I only got to see "Lights, Motors, Action" (but don't get me wrong, the show was amazing, especially the backwards car) and Pizza Port. I actually only made it as far as Pizza Port until I felt like throwing up and passing out. My mom walked me back again.
I got to the hotel room where I slept for the rest of the day. When I woke up, I found a Woody plushie to go with the Buzz plushie I got earlier, an opening day pin for Toy Story Midway Mania, an opening day pin for Wall-E, and a whole other pin set for the opening day of Wall-E. My dad came back to the room with pictures of the Wall-E display at Disney Animation (and while we're on the subject of Wall-E, I'm seeing it tomorrow if I feel okay but I bought a TON of EVE stuff, like pins/plushies/models and the Wall-E storybook).
DAY TEN - DISNEY WORLD/COLORADO/CALIFORNIAI slept in while some people went to Downtown Disney and others went boating. We left the Polynesian around 1:30 PM.
Our first flight was three hours, from Florida to Colorado. The flight was really rough. Our second flight was two hours, from Colorado to California. It was much better.
I came home to find the Wall-E soundtrack, a Wall-E poster from a newspaper, and another John Mayer "Where the Light Is" poster.
IN CONCLUSION... (aka random thoughts)While I didn't like being in the actual park too much (only because I was sick), I LOOOVED the Disney Wonder. I miss my stateroom. It feels more like home than my actual home right now. I also miss the Flying Dutchman.
Spaking of the Dutchman, she was BEAUTIFUL. Even though she wasn't as big as she seems in the movies and she was missing a lot of the rigging, she was still awesome. There's a lot of details on the ship you don't catch in the movie. She's actually also hollow now that they aren't using her in the movie anymore. There's mostly pipes and stairs inside.
And I guess I could talk about the stuff I got. I saved a lot of the papers I got throughout the trip (mostly the Disney Wonder's personal navigator/schedule stuff) and maps and things like that, but you know me... I have to buy a ton of stuff. Let's list some of it here...
-Cinderella's Royal Table Swords (x2, from lunch at Cinderella's Castle in the Magic Kingdom)
-Buzz/Woody plushies
-PotC Teddy Bear (from the Disney Wonder)
-Castaway Cay/Disney Wonder pins (probably like x5)
-EVE model
-EVE plushie
-EVE pins (x2)
-Wall-E opening day pin
-Wall-E opening day pin set
-Jack's Piece of Eight keychain
-Castaway Cay coins
-Disney Wonder model
...etc. etc.
So yeah... it's kind of surreal being home. As I said, the Disney Wonder felt so much like home that being in my house is really uncomfortable. I'll have to adjust again.
Oh yeah, and jet lag is HORRIBLE. I'm going to sleep... Wall-E and WHERE THE LIGHT IS tomorrow...
P.S.- Thanks for reading.
